Cloud Village is a product of the collective effort of all our family members and wonderful friends and relatives. It involves Grandpa cultivating vegetables and raising pigs while Grandma nurtures chickens and harvests the vegetables. It is also not rare to see the neighbors helping out making taro dumplings. A-Zhang looks after the external affairs, while Er-Jie (“second sister”) takes charges in all internal management. Cousins at Bi-tou fishing village are responsible for catching fresh fish and all the other siblings are also always on call to help when needed. Therefore you can be sure at Cloud Village you are served with the most traditional and typical Taiwanese local cuisines.

At Cloud Village you will experience a leisure hostel with strong local flavors and simplicity, all about being embraced by wonderful nature - white clouds, green mountains and clear waters.

On the Ground floor is the dinning room and the tea tasting area. The first and second floors are decorated with old photos and memorabilia from the old gold mining period, while an observation area is located on the roof. Although the furnishings are simple, you will experience the most elegantly presented local traditional styles which has an interesting mix of local aboriginal culture, the Japanese influence and Chinese flavor.

The guest rooms at Cloud Village are not extravagant, however they provide a clean and easy living environment. Here we emphasise a local and homely living atmosphere. As a local folk song best portrays Cloud Village, “There is a stream running in front of my home with green mountains range behind.”

Along with specially arranged tour routes our visitors have a great chance to familiarise themselves with Jinguashi, the beautiful old gold mining town. We have been very fortunate to have welcomed many visitors back for more stays, where they feel very much like they have come home again.
